Tie Rod Reel

This type of heavy duty reel or drum consists of 2 plastic flanges and a barrel which is supported by a number of steel tie rods.

The plastic flanges are 10mm, 19mm, 24mm or 30mm thick as standard with diameters usually ranging from 300mm to 1200mm.

The barrel for this type of reel can be made with a steel tube, plastic tube or timber wooden lags.

The barrel surrounds and is supported by either 3, 4, 6 or 8 steel threaded tie rods that are fastened at each end with nylocs and washers.
