Plywood Reels & Drums

Tube Reel

This type of reel or drum consists of two plywood flanges and a barrel which surrounds a number of steel tubes.

The steel tubes are 19mm diameter with each reel containing 3, 4, 6 or 8 tubes depending upon the size of the barrel.

The plywood flanges come in the following standard sizes:

Thickness	Standard Diameters
6mm	275mm, 300mm, 325mm, 350mm, 375mm, 400mm, 425mm, 450mm, 550mm & 600mm
8mm	465mm, 500mm & 600mm
12mm	350mm, 450mm, 600mm, 750mm & 850mm

18mm and 24mm thick flanges are also available as are other diameter sizes, please contact us with your requirements.

The barrel for this type of reel can be plywood, cardboard or steel depending upon its size and your requirements. Standard barrel diameters are 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 225mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm and 450mm with a standard reel traverse from 100mm up to 500mm.

Barrels with diameters from 100mm to 250mm can be supplied as a solid cardboard tube.

Barrels with diameters from 200mm to 450mm can be made from 3mm thick plywood.

A 1mm thick steel barrel is also available, this is normally used for internal drum winding.
