Tube Reel
This type of reel / drum consists of two plywood flanges and a barrel held together by a number of steel tubes.
The steel tubes are 19mm diameter with each reel containing 3, 4, 6 or 8 tubes depending upon the diameter of the barrel.
Plywood flanges range from 275mm to 850mm in diameter, in thicknesses of 6mm, 8mm, and 12mm as standard. MDF and plastic flanges can also be used for this type of reel and other diameter sizes are available, please contact us with your enquiries and requirements.
Barrels for this type of reel can be plywood, cardboard, plastic or steel depending upon its size and your requirements. Standard barrel diameters are 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 225mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm and 450mm with a standard traverse (length) from 100mm up to 500mm.
Metal Stamping Reel (MSR)
The plywood MSR is a lightweight reel that can be supplied assembled or in kit form.
This is the same reel as the cardboard MSR but uses 2 plywood flanges instead of card flanges. These are held together by a number of metal stampings which form the barrel.
The stampings can be covered with either be a solid cardboard tube or a paper strip used to protect the product being wound onto the reel.
MSR reels can contain 2, 3, 4 or 5 metal stampings depending upon the required barrel diameter.
The metal stampings can have lengths ranging from 90mm to 457mm with either 2 or 3 prongs on their ends and are manufactured in house.
The plywood flanges are usually 6mm thick with diameters ranging from 250mm to 450mm as standard.
Tie Rod Reel
This type of heavy duty reel / drum consists of 2 plywood flanges and a barrel which surrounds a number of steel tie rods.
The plywood flanges are 12mm or 18mm thick as standard with diameters usually ranging from 750mm to 1500mm.
The barrel for this type of reel can be made with a steel tube, cardboard tube, plastic tube or timber wooden lags.
The barrel surrounds and is held in place by either 3, 4, 6 or 8 steel threaded tie rods that are fastened at each end with nylocs and washers.
